AIA Visits Capitol Hill during AIA Grassroots

A dozen members of AIA Massachusetts joined 600 colleagues in visiting each of our state’s legislators on Capitol Hill last week to advocate for architects and architecture excellence.

In addition to lobbying for national issues on energy efficiency and school safety, we shared the booklet “Right Now in Massachusetts” that showcases model projects in each congressional district that advance important ideas to improve the built environment.

The remaining two days of AIA Grassroots was dedicated to helping members become stronger leaders. The program featured presentations from Mayors & Architects working together, a keynote by Presidential Historian/Author Doris Kearns Goodwin, and sessions on critical leadership issues within AIA including a presentation by BSA member and Director-at-Large AIA Board member Emily Grandstaff-Rice FAIA, with BSA President-Elect Natasha Espada AIA on “Introducing….
