The ICC Transition of the IECC to an Energy Standard
Guest speakers:
Dorothy Mazzarella
, Vice President, Government Relations, International Code Council
Mike Pfeiffer, Senior Vice President of Technical Services, International Code Council

Earlier this year the International Code Council (ICC) Board voted to move the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) from the ICC Code Development Process to the ICC Standards Development Process. Please join us for a presentation by, and discussion with ICC regarding the reasons for this change, the timeline for the transition, and expectations for the evolving roles / responsibilities of Architects and Engineers in developing the new Energy Standard. It is important for the Design Professional community to understand the differences between the code development process and the standards development process, who will be involved with decision making, how public comments are factored into those decisions, and ultimately how this change benefits the design process leading toward better buildings.

This is a joint presentation with the AIA Massachusetts Government Affairs Committee
