IT Wizards: Dynamo Overview Workshop

The BSA IT Wizards, in conjunction with Microcad Training and Consulting, will be offering a free 1 hour workshop on the basics of Revit Dynamo. The workshop will be hosted at the training facilities at Microcad Training & Consulting (MTC) and will be also broadcast as a Zoom meeting. Attendees can be virtual or in-person. The event will acquaint attendees with the power of Dynamo and the basic approach to using the tool.

Purpose
Dynamo is still thought of as an academic tool for computational design but with little practical benefit. This workshop will show how wrong that perception is. Attendees will see how to use Dynamo to get immediate payback in terms of productivity, consistency, and error avoidance. While not replacing live training, the workshop will give valuable exposure to the Dynamo platform.

Attendees in-person (Due to COVID regulations, we must limit in-person attendance to 8 people. first come, first serve)
Those who come to MTC will be able to have hands-on experience with computers and software provided by MTC. Specific Dynamo work sessions will walk the attendees through the creation and use of a Dynamo program. For in-person attendance, please RSVP [email protected] with the subject line (Dynamo Workshop). Space is first come, first serve and only one RSVP is allowed per person. Bruce will respond to your RSVP and confirm your spot. Directions to the training facility will be emailed to the 8 people who have successfully preregistered. In person Attendees, please arrive by 11:30AM to register and you will be assigned a computer supplied by MTC. After the workshop has been completed, lunch will be provided, courtesy of MTC.

Virtual Attendees
Virtual attendees will hear how Dynamo works and will see it in operation. The Dynamo work sessions will be shown on the Zoom meeting, but virtual attendees will not be able to have hands-on experience. Please RSVP to receive the link to attend the workshop, virtually.

Content
The hour will consist of presentation material explaining what Dynamo is, when to use it, and the positioning of this tool with Autodesk. Actual mechanics of using Dynamo will be shown in a hands-on workshop where in-person attendees will use MTC workstations to build and run a Dynamo program.

COVID information
In-person attendees must wear a mask if they are not vaccinated. The CDC recommends wearing a mask regardless of vaccination status. MTC personnel are all vaccinated but will wear masks as well. Where possible, social distancing will be practiced.
