Event Description

Join the BSA Healthcare Facilities for a Construction Tour of BCH Waltham Sanderson Building. The Sanderson Building was opened on May 4, 1930 as a maternity hospital wing for the original Waltham Hospital and was designed for 52 patients and 4 nurseries. Once the building had run its course it became a predominantly vacant building. During several design studies though the years with BCH the question of the life of the building fluctuated from being demolished to ultimately becoming outpatient clinical and admin spaces.

The Tour of the construction site will take the visitors through (3) phases of construction beginning on the ground floor admin area where the studs are just being erected allowing people to see the infrastructure required to revitalize this space and then moving up to the first floor Sleep Clinic where the gyp board is quickly being installed and final millwork and equipment coordination is taking place. And finally ending on the second floor with the Multispecialty Clinic which has begun to have final finishes installed.

We hope people are able to join us from 4:00 to 5:30 pm on November 16, 2023 so we can share the exciting journey of this project and building.
