Join us for a screening of “Modernism, Inc.” a documentary that explores the life and career of Eliot Noyes, the iconic architect (educated by Walter Gropius at Harvard) and designer who built the design programs for IBM, Westinghouse and Mobil Oil and who played a prominent role in the influence of Modernism on culture and design in midcentury America. Modernism Inc was a 2023 Finalist for the Library of Congress Lavine/Ken Burns Prize for Film, and an Official Selection at the 2023 Architecture & Design Film Festival, the 2023 New Haven Film Festival and the 2023 Architecture Film Festival in Rotterdam. This will be the first time the film has been screened in Massachusetts. Our evening will begin with an introduction from Eliot’s son, Fred, an architect and BSA member, followed by the exclusive screening of the 75-minute film before wrapping up with a Q&A session with Fred and director/writer Jason Cohn of Bread & Butter Films.
