The Acoustics of High Performance Building

Given our aging population in the United States the acoustical environment of our buildings is a more and more important consideration for conscientious designers and builders. High-performance buildings such as those built to the Passive House standard pose their own challenges: with super-insulated walls and triple-glazed windows, outdoor noise is significantly diminished, but as a result indoor noises from HVAC and other equipment become more noticeable and challenging. At this PHMA meeting, Jeff Fullerton of Intertek will offer an engaging introduction to the science of indoor acoustics and speak in particular to the challenges of super-insulated construction.

For those who qualify, 1.5 LU/HSWs are available.
