Modular Ceiling Diffuser Systems for Operating Rooms: A Case Study and Lessons Learned

As part of the Integrated Design Process (IDP) used by TRO for the design of the new Menino Building expansion at Boston Medical Center, the team incorporated modular ceiling diffuser systems into eight of the new operating rooms.

The presentation will walk through the IDP process related to the OR design, and address a number of the challenges the team faced in applying this technology to the OR ceilings. The team will provide an update on the installation, including a time lapse video of the installation process, in which one of the operating room ceiling fixtures was installed in just over 1 hour.

Panelists:
Brendan Whelan, director, design and construction, Boston Medical Center
David Belleville, account executive, APA LLC (New England Huntair sales rep)
Dan MacDonald, HFDP, Associate TRO

For those who qualify, 1.5 LU/HSWs are available.
