Architect / Interior Architect / Project Manager

Helicon Design Group is a small, multi-disciplinary studio in Boston's Downtown Crossing with 30 years of practice over a wide variety of project types – all forward-looking and with an emphasis on contemporary design solutions. Helicon offers all the advantages of a small-office practice: a supportive, informal, and lively environment with two experienced firm veterans as mentors.

We are now interviewing architects and interior architects with at least 5 years of experience to work on corporate interiors, daycare, hospitality, residential, and adaptive reuse commercial projects. License track is preferred.

Our candidates should have excellent teamwork and client relationship skills. Job Captain-Project Manager responsibilities will include team production coordination, construction document production, consultant coordination, and construction field review. Personal transportation is occasionally required. All Helicon architects and Project Managers are hired to grow as representatives of the firm and help build relationships with existing and new clients, consultants, and vendors. Helicon teams are regularly immersed in all phases of design, construction, and close-out.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of MAC OS operating environment.
• Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
• 5 years of experience including project management experience.
• Working knowledge of contract documents with QA and markup experience is required.
• Octopus-like abilities to handle internal project workflow of multiple projects.
• Attention to detail in all office tasks and project phases is a must.
• Architectural detailing and custom design construction experience.
• Vectorworks CADD and Mac OS experience preferred.
• Sketchup 3-D modeling is a priority.
• Strong communication skills and a sense of humor.
• Project Managers must be able to share ideas and take direction from senior staff as well as work independently as needed.
• Working towards professional licensure, AXP/ARE, or other professional organization certificates a plus.
