About This Position

bh+a is seeking a detail oriented, creative, and highly motivated full-time senior interior designer who will be responsible for the design and execution of interior design projects, either standalone or in conjunction with the building design team.


  • Lead interior design in collaboration with the building design team;
  • Participate in presentations during the project life cycle;
  • Prepare finish selections including materials, style and color;
  • Prepare scaled drawings from Schematic Design through Construction Documents;
  • Coordinate and review external consultant’s design and specifications;
  • Review drawings for compliance with contract and bid requirements;
  • Ensure drawings comply with local and state building codes and regulations;
  • Collaborate with client to identify budget and establish schedule timelines;
  • Communicate effectively with clients and project stakeholders;
  • Supervise and manage internal staff and external consultants to achieve the established project milestones;
  • Visit job sites to gather information on an as-needed basis;
  • Interface with client on an as-needed basis, attend project design meetings and OAC meetings;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in interior design, documentation, and construction administration;
  • Creative, imaginative, and artistic;
  • Ability to translate client ideas into visual ideas through sketches, drawings, and 3D models;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving and consultation skills;
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills;
  • Willingness to travel to job sites and be client facing;
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Revit is required; and
  • Proficient with Enscape, Photoshop, Bluebeam, InDesign, and Microsoft Office Suite.


  • 6+ years of professional experience in interior design; and
  • Bachelor's degree in interior design or architecture from an accredited university is required (master's degree preferred)
