About This Position

Payette is seeking a Senior Information Technology Manager to provide leadership in all IT areas including hardware, software, and IT security. Reporting to the Principals, the successful candidate will have management experience in multiple IT areas, work well with senior leaders in the firm, demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills and add value to the organization with minimal direction.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in technology leadership positions with an emphasis on infrastructure services and enterprise applications support
  • Experience in architectural, engineering and/or construction industry environments.
  • Strong technical background and understanding of architectural design processes and technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in complex operating system environments.
  • Experience supporting cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and CRM, BI/Data Analytics, and Integration.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on collaborative support.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful technology projects and initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the company's Information Technology department to support all aspects of the firm’s operation and its mission to deliver excellence in architectural design services. This includes the full spectrum of IT infrastructure including computing, networking, audio-visual systems, and personal devices.
  • Ensure that technology systems are configured and maintained to run in a secure, reliable, and efficient manner. Organize and participate in support services to maximize up-time and respond to outages and infrastructure challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, architectural project teams, and design visualization, to ensure technology initiatives are aligned with the firm’s mission and meet the needs of the end users.
  • Evaluate and optimize systems with an eye towards ease of use and facilitating the work of the end users.
  • Develop and maintain general competency in core software packages used by the firm in order to lead and participate in help-desk activities provided by the Information Technology group.
  • Training: Arrange for training (both in-house and externally-provided) for all IT users to ensure productive use of existing and new systems.
  • Deploy and optimize systems and services for hybrid and remote staff including cloud-based and direct network connection capabilities.
  • Research and evaluate the latest developments, trends, and best practices in the AEC industry, and incorporate this knowledge into recommendations for the firm’s deployment of Information Technology.
  • Strategic planning: Develop, propose and implement long-term technology strategies and roadmaps that support the overall segment business goals and objectives.
  • This includes identifying areas for improvement in existing processes and systems and developing plans to implement new technologies and techniques to support the firm’s initiatives.
  • Development and acquisition of new applications and evaluation and maintenance of existing applications to meet the firm’s initiatives.
  • Develop and recommend decisions relative to outsourcing versus in-house provisioning of IT services and skills.
  • Technology evaluation and selection: Continuously monitor emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the architecture/design industry.
  • Work with firm leadership to develop annual and longer-term strategic financial investment strategies for information technology systems.
  • Develop, lead and mentor the IT team, providing guidance and support to ensure their success and professional development.
  • Project management: Oversee the management and execution of technology projects, including managing timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Oversee the deployment of new technology systems and upgrades to existing systems.
