The BSA/AIA seeks applicants for two open positions on the Designer Selection Committee Board for the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD).

Applicants must be a Massachusetts registered architect and a member of the BSA. These members join a nine-member board comprised of three registered architects, three registered engineers, two housing advocates, and a contractor. The position serves a two-year term, with the ability for a successive two-year term.

The DHCD assists in the provision of state-assisted affordable housing to low income residents through local housing authorities. The Designer Selection Committee Board meets on the third Wednesday of the month for two to three hours to review and discuss projects to be undertaken, applicant design firms and for selection of ranked lists of applicants for each project.

Note that the appointee and the appointee’s firm is prohibited from providing services on any DHCD funded housing projects and further the appointee cannot have any financial interest, direct or indirect, in any contract made by DHCD.
