Governor Baker updates restrictions on construction in the Commonwealth
Only construction related to emergency work, critical infrastructure, public works, and housing—including mixed-use development that includes housing—may continue or resume.
On March 31, Governor Baker updated the Commonwealth's list of essential services and clarified the definition of essential services related to the construction industry. It is not expected that the Commonwealth will interfere with contradictory orders issued by municipalities including Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville.
