Community ImpactJun 27, 2019 Share ↗ Thank you to all the Volunteers who have participated in youth events this school year!by BSA Staff Tadpole10Image courtesy of BSA StaffThe BSA Foundation wants to thank its group of over 200 volunteers from the architecture and design community. This school year, volunteers donated over 1000 working hours. From teaching toddlers about the importance of creativity and individuality in one’s home, to welcoming high school students into their offices for a day of design, these programs cannot happen without the commitment of the dedicated individuals as well as firm leadership that supports them.Since August of 2018, the BSA Foundation has organized volunteer opportunities in Boston Public Schools, at BSA Space, and out in the community. In BPS’ kindergarten classrooms, architects worked with students to explore how they wanted their future communities to look. In Jamaica Plain, architects brought their expertise to assist fifth grade students whose capstone project was to design a school for 21st century learners. The opportunities continue…Coming up in August, volunteers will bring Kidsbuild! to the Lena Park Community Center in Dorchester, MA. This is the first-of-its-kind venture, which takes the BSA Foundation’s largest youth event into surrounding neighborhoods. If you are interested in becoming a BSA Foundation volunteer, or learning more about volunteer opportunities, click here.
