The COVID pandemic has brought to light the critical role buildings play in impacting health and keeping people safe. In this presentation, Brian Salazar from Entegra and Tyrone Yang AIA from Architectural Health will present an overview of the WELL Building Standard as one framework architects and owners can use to promote health in the built environment. Walking through an example building and post-occupancy study, they will describe how the impact of a healthy building can be quantified through occupant well-being, employee productivity and an organization’s bottom line. Finally, referencing current public health research, they will present a recent project to show how to help owners manage COVID and promote health in their buildings.
