Planning & Design in a Post-COVID World

Cities today are shaped by more than buildings and streets, they are informed by a growing awareness of environmental challenges, evolving cultural identities, and complex community perspectives. While the global pandemic has held back many areas of our daily lives, it has highlighted many unaddressed and hidden issues that are challenges to future resilience. Participants will join for two days of curated panels from experts in the areas of physical city-building, natural systems, and community needs. A series of presentations and discussions will lay the foundation for the course and introduce the breadth of environmental, economic, and social issues that must be addressed at all scales.

This two-day program focuses on developing a broader understanding of how planners' or designers' skills contribute to more resilient, equitable cities and futures.
