AEC firms face roadblocks when it comes to engaging technical staff in marketing and business development (M&BD) efforts. No matter your role, understanding how you can support M&BD efforts will help your business leaders, your firm, and your own career.

This fall, the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) joins the Emerging Professionals Network (EPNet) to deconstruct notions about who is responsible for marketing and business development and explore how both technical and marketing staff can efficiently elevate their best practices.

Jessica and Marsha will address topics including:

  • M&BD Myths. Breakdown the misconception that business development, is solely the responsibility of marketing and senior level technical leaders.
  • Leveraging your M&BD resources. Explore how M&BD collateral and activities can better work equip technical staff at all levels to better serve clients and preposition a firm for more work.
  • Communication. Discuss networking, tools, and best practices that enable marketing and technical staff to work better together and develop a marketing-minded culture.

Both emerging and mid-level professionals will walk away with a clearer understanding of M&BD functions and actionable strategies to engage in networking, marketing, and business development. Resources used in the presentation will also be made available for future reference.
