Delegated Design - R1

We had this presentation in December. It seems important enough to us that we are going to have it again. This is an open forum discussing issues with defining, implementing and coordinating delegated design requirements we carry in our contract documents. As architects we have delegated portions of our design when it comes to the structural steel where a fabricator designs the connections that carry the load. We also delegate design when it comes to secondary structural elements with regards to exterior cladding systems, stairs and curtain wall systems. Plus we carry delegated design for many MEP/ FP components. How do we ensure the proper outcome when we delegate our design to others? What are the owner's expectation when we delegate our design? Who is coming? Structural Engineers, Construction Managers, MEP Engineers and of course architects, owners and owners reps should all be present for this discussion.
