Beyond Diversity: Meaningful participation and leadership for professionals of color

There's a lingering disconnect between the phrase, "Equity, diversity and inclusion" and the empty chairs at the table. In an era of increased awareness around racial inequity, there are still serious gaps in the representation of professionals of color (POCs) in urban design and across all fields of planning, policy and design.

Join a provocative and honest discussion designed to unpack these terms and highlight the lived experiences of POCs. Our panelists intend to get real about the systems that are holding professionals of color back and the ways we need to step up to address the problem.

Speakers include Angela Johnson, Transportation Justice Organizer at T4MA; Irene Figueroa Ortiz, Assistant Planning Director at a A Better City; and Nai Collymore-Henry, Vice President of Partnerships, Alliance for Business Leadership.
