This is a brief report on codes and regulatory activities including the status of pending legislation and Building Code / regulatory changes of interest to Owners, Developers, Architects, and Engineers. Topics include the status of Codes by Boards that oversee areas of building construction and coordination of codes (BCCC).

Guest Speaker: Paul Moan, Fire Protection Engineer, Code Red Consultants

For this fifth session of the 2018 Codes Committee’s annual cycle of code presentations, Engineer Paul Moan of Code Red Consultants will focus on when the scope of work in an existing building can trigger more extensive work.
Paul’s presentation will allow participants to recognize various code thresholds and implications to an existing building in the context of their project, allowing for early planning and proactive capture of the scope and time associated with necessary upgrades. Content will be presented in two main parts, with the first being a detailed discussion of code thresholds and triggers, and the second exploring the impact of the code thresholds on several case studies, including lessons learned.

As a complement to the presentation our speaker will provide a PDF to all attendees who request it.
