The Design Process and the Art of the Single Family Home

What are the thought processes of architectural design? How do designers’ ideas about form move from concept to reality? What forms of visual documentation are best for helping clients make decisions and builders successfully translate the design into built form? And how, precisely, does this design process apply to single family homes?

Join us for drinks and hor d'oeuvres, and listen to former BSA president Richard Bertman FAIA discuss these questions and his recently published book, The Design Process and the Art of the Single Family Home.

Richard Bertman FAIA is a founding principal of CBT Architects and has 40+ years’ experience designing homes. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Boston Preservation Alliance, previously served as president of the BSA, and has received lifetime achievement awards from both.

The Design Process and the Art of the Single Family Home will be available to purchase at the event.
