Senior Living Communities have seen a marked population increase in the past decade, and which is expected to continue. When planning new spaces for seniors designers need to look at special technology and acoustic considerations. These aren’t your typical multi-family projects as there are common areas such as large multipurpose spaces, dining areas, as well as healthcare-intensive suites. In this session, we will discuss how the new FGI guidelines apply to senior living facilities, and skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, as well as how to address the unique acoustics requirements of an aging population. We will also discuss how technology is being increasingly used as a method to aid the delivery of patient care.
