Highlights from the Gingerbread Design Competition & Exhibition
After hosting two pandemic-era Gingerbread Competition & Exhibitions, the BSA is thrilled to announce the first in-person exhibition since 2019!
This year's theme, Climate Ginger-Ready Boston, is a nod to the City's Climate Ready Boston initiative and has encouraged bakers to think about creating climate-resilient gingerbread designs that speak to the unique challenges that Boston faces. The theme this year aligns with the BSA's mission to address issues of equity and sustainability in the built environment.
Below are just a few gingerbreads to give you a small taste of all 16 incr-edible entries. While all submissions addressed climate change, some did so more directly than others.
Other submissions took a more playful approach to how Boston might "rise" to the occasion.
All Gingerbread creations are now on view in Waterfront Square at 290 Congress Street every day from 7 am-9 pm until December 20.
If you are not able to make it to Boston, you may also view all Gingerbreads via our virtual Gingerbread Exhibition.
The annual BSA Gingerbread Design Competition & Exhibition is also a fundraiser for the great work of the BSA. Please consider voting with your dollars or with your Facebook likes.
