Grants 2016
The BSA Foundation is pleased to announce its 2016 grant awards. These grants help underwrite community-based K-12 and other educational programs that focus on elevating public awareness of the planning, design, and construction of our communities. This year’s recipients and the contact person for each are:
Associates of the Boston Public Library (Boston)—$2,500 to support cataloging and ultimate digitization of the Boston Public Library’s Peabody & Stearns collection. (Louisa Stephens, 617-536-3886)
Boston Society of Civil Engineers Section (Boston)—$1,500 to support New England regional Future City Competition for students grade six through eight. (Reed Brockman, 617-240-7979)
Charles River Conservancy (Cambridge)—$2,800 to support community meetings and charrettes concerning the development of the Swimmable Charles Initiative. (Kelsey Pramik, 617-300-8164)
City of Northampton (Northampton)—$2,800 to support Green Housing for All, an affordable green housing design competition. (Wayne Feiden, 413-587-1265)
Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation (Dorchester)—$1,500 to support the implementation of the New England Avenue Art Path, a beautification and revitalization project for the Eco-Innovation District. (David Queeley, 617-825-4224)
Hawthorne Youth and Community Center (Roxbury)—$1,500 to support Grow It! Cook It! Share It!, a community garden project. (Rebekah McKinney, 617-427-0613)
Michael Haggerty (Cambridge)—$1,500 to support the Ground Break festival, an urbanism and sustainability event in the Riverside neighborhood of Cambridge. (Michael Haggerty, 646-526-5669)
Raw Art Works (Lynn)—$1,500 to support Good to Go (G2G), an arts employment program in which a team of Lynn youth create public art, manage projects, think critically, and communicate and engage with their local community. (Jennifer Pieroni, 781-593-5515)
Salem Main Streets (Salem)—$2,800 to support Salem City Design, an interactive project and traveling exhibit based on a full scale model of the City of Salem. (Kylie Sullivan, 978-744-0004 x 15)
