HKT Architects, an architectural firm located in Charlestown in our 47th year of business, is looking for Project Architect and Job Captain positions with appropriate experience for immediate full-time employment. Experience with contract administration would be desirable. Our work includes municipal projects such as public safety, public works and town offices, master planning as well as college/university projects, interior design, sustainable design and historic preservation throughout New England. We provide an environment that encourages creativity and team collaboration. At the same time, we offer mentorship to young professionals to help them advance towards their professional career goals.

About This Position

Candidates will be immediately taking on the role of Project Architect or Job Captain for of municipal projects in Massachusetts and/or New Hampshire. Experience in public design and construction is preferred. Must be proficient in Revit and be able to design, detail and work in a collaborative setting.

Responsibilities could include:

  • Managing projects from study through construction
  • Working independently to problem solve and to find creative solutions
  • Meeting with clients
  • Developing presentation materials, including renderings
  • Coordinating consultants
  • Researching materials and products
  • Working on preliminary schematic designs, and then developing documents through construction documents including detailing and permitting
  • Working through construction administration and close-out
  • Assisting with marketing tasks
