Our project location is loosely based on the vacant Bayside Expo site. This location provides a wonderful opportunity to study how we could redevelop a site that addresses resiliency and climate change, as well as, be a valuable resource for the surrounding neighborhoods. The new community is constructed on a raised platform to allow for flooding but maintain a street-level presence. A circular building that spins and generates kinetic energy by utilizing offshore wind in an effort to create power for the community and also could function as a climate shelter. Our favorite part of this "project" was the amount of laughter it generated.
