Film Screening: Immersive Visualization

  • COST

Free and open to the public

The BSA Space Film Series takes a detour! Go on a self-guided field trip to ABX in November to discover how Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) are disrupting the AEC industry. From photo-real representations of what a space will look like, to exploring the intricacies of construction details, architects, engineers, and designers are using VR and AR to inform client walk-throughs, as well as to instruct their own design processes.

Come see firsthand how these firms are utilizing VR and AR in different stages of the design process:

  • Arrowstreet
  • Catalist
  • CBT
  • Consigli
  • Elumenati
  • HMFH
  • Looper
  • Sasaki
  • Shepley Bulfinch
  • SMMA
  • VHB Engineering
  • Visual Vocal
  • Windover

Talk to the people responsible for generating content in their firms and discuss how this could inform your own practice. These 13 companies will be showing demos in four hour shifts so come back often to hear different perspectives and talk to new experts.

The Immersive Visualization pavilion is open from 10:00 am–6:00 pm. Register for a free Exhibit Hall pass at abexpo.com/register. Use promo code ABX2017 (case sensitive).

Film screenings will continue in December at BSA Space (290 Congress Street, Boston) as part of the 2017–2018 BSA Space Film Series documenting some of the ways that architecture and design can engage communities, inspire vision, and provoke change. Complimentary refreshments and popcorn will be served. All proceeds from the series support the BSA Foundation.
