The Civic Design Labs, the BSA’s platform for public engagement through architecture, brings architects together with residents, policymakers, and allied collaborators to explore how design can respond to complex civic challenges. The Building Advocacy Lab, embedded in this platform, is charged with developing and executing a strategic policy agenda that serves as the cornerstone of BSA’s advocacy efforts.
Through this work, it builds coalitions, creates design and policy tools, and cultivates leadership to strengthen architecture’s role in improving the built environment for all.
The Building Advocacy Lab’s work spans locally across Eastern MA, while also uplifting the work at the state (through AIA MA), and nationally (AIA national), to help members stay informed and engaged in policy initiatives and efforts:
