Vibration in the Built Environment

This workshop will cover a number of types of vibration commonly found in the built environment including floor vibration, ground-borne and structure-borne noise, tall building sway and crowd-induced vibration. It will include practical project examples including some of the solutions available. Tools for diagnosing/addressing vibration problems will also be covered including measurement techniques, Tuned Mass Dampers, structural modifications, isolation systems and active vibration control.
