Michael Ford: Hip Hop Architecture

  • COST

Free and open to the public

The Boston Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects (BosNOMA) and the Boston Society of Architects/AIA (BSA) welcome Michael Ford Assoc. AIA to Boston for a lecture exploring hip hop as a revolutionary approach to thinking about and creating architecture.

Michael speaks to the impact of three interconnected realms—education, practice, and media—and their potential to raise the cultural awareness of architectural practitioners and create opportunities to increase the recruitment, retention, and immediate contribution of underrepresented communities in the profession.

Mike Davis FAIA, president of Bergmeyer Associates and member of the BSA Foundation Board of Trustees, will introduce this multi-media event. A reception in the BSA Space Gallery will follow.

The Hip Hop Architecture Workshop: Boston, a youth program, will be held Friday, August 4. Registration is limited.

This event is a program of BosNOMA, the BSA, and the BSA Equity Roundtable.
