Like us, animals need their own habitats, places and spaces where they can lead healthy, happy lives. Rabbits burrow into the ground, squirrels nest in treetops, fish cover themselves in the mud of a river bottom. Some birds even cohabitate with humans by building nests in chimneys and on top of telephone poles! This month, explore the wonders of animal architecture, and design your own structure for a special creature.

This family program is designed for parents and children aged five to 10 years old. A maximum ratio of one adult per three children is required. Tickets are $10 per person (both adults and children), $8 for Friends of BSA Space* and BSA members.

Family Design Day programs encourage children and adults to observe, explore, and design together. In these two-hour hands-on workshops, families are introduced to architecture and design through exhibit tours, walking tours, or slideshows and then complete a hands-on design activity. Architects and design educators lead the activities focused on the built environment of Boston and the world (or universe!).

Family Design Days are a program of the BSA Foundation.
