Client Conversations: Placemaking for Mixed-Use Developments

  • COST

$30 for BSA members ($40 for nonmembers)

Placemaking takes on many definitions when the conversation centers on mixed-use real estate development. Whether discussing mixed use within a single building or its variety of uses within large developments such as Assembly Row, University Station, or the revitalization of Quincy Center, architectural and interior design play an integral role. Join us for a conversation with real estate developers and leaders of economic development who are creating new developments as well as reimagining places within existing urban and suburban neighborhoods in the Greater Boston area. They will share how they select design firms, what their expectations are for participation on their teams, and what is best and also challenging about those relationships.

Panel
Jim Fischer PE, senior vice president, planning design and construction, New England Development
Patrick McMahon, director of development, Federal Realty Investment Trust
William J. Geary, Esq., attorney at law, Special Counsel to Mayor Thomas P. Koch for Downtown Development, City of Quincy

About the Series
Each session of the new series focuses on a central theme, with a panel representing a range of market sectors. Client Conversations continues to connect building-industry professionals with high-profile clients from key New England market sectors; and this year, to widen the discussion, the BSA gives the stage to other players in the design industry. See more on the Client Conversations series page.
