This month, Family Design Days will fly into the Star Wars galaxy to think about what intergalactic transportation designers need to consider. Do you need a landspeeder for a desert planet? A cruiser that can travel between Inner and Outer Rim worlds? Or perhaps a snowspeeder defending alliance positions on an ice planet? Bring your own ideas for a vehicle that can survive its planetary atmosphere or bridge multiple worlds as it travels throughout the galaxy, with or without help from the Force. Participants will build their designs using recycled materials.

This family program is designed for parents and children aged five to 13 years old. A maximum ratio of one adult per three children is required. Tickets are $10 per person (both adults and children), $8 for Friends of BSA Space* and BSA members.

Family Design Day programs encourage children and adults to observe, explore, and design together. In these two-hour hands-on workshops, families are introduced to architecture and design through exhibit tours, walking tours, or slideshows and then complete a hands-on design activity. Architects and design educators lead the activities focused on the built environment of Boston and the world (or universe!).

Family Design Days are a program of the BSA Foundation.
