Access Committee

Please join the BSA Access Committee on Wednesday 10/28 at 12:00pm for our regularly-scheduled monthly meeting. This month, we welcome Anita Walker, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Cultural Council, to discuss the MCC’s exciting new “UP” initiative.

The “UP” initiative supports the growth and development of cultural organizations here in the Commonwealth that recognize the power of inclusive design to grow audiences and enhance cultural experiences for everyone.

Joining Ms. Walker will be Jay Paget, the director of the MCC Cultural Facilities Fund, who will be discussing a parallel effort to incentivize the incorporation of Universal Design principles into capital and planning projects for nonprofit and municipal cultural facilities.

MCC has approached the Access Committee with the specific hope of gaining insights regarding the continued development of the “UP” initiative and the Cultural Facilities Fund from our membership’s broad experience in accessibility in Universal Design – so please come with your thinking caps on! The format of the meeting will be about 30-45 minutes of presentation, followed by discussion and brainstorming.
