Tour the 2013 BSA Accessible Design Honor Award winner, Gund Partnership’s Grousbeck Center for Students and Technology at the Perkins School for the Blind. Globe Architecture critic Robert Campbell FAIA said of the Center, “We’re used to thinking of architecture as a visual art, not something you listen to. But this is a school for the blind." Join the Access Committee on October 23 at 5:30 pm at Perkins School (175 North Beacon Street, Watertown) to learn how the Center’s design integrates sound, texture, lighting, and technology to demonstrate universal design that can be used in any building. Imagine what this would seem like to Annie Sullivan and Helen Keller, two of Perkins' most famous teachers and alumnae!
