To celebrate the completion of the first phase of the “Co-creating Boston’s Future-Decker” competition, the BSA and Housing Innovation Lab are hosting a celebratory event to showcase the thoughtful and innovative ideas shared. This summer, the BSA and Housing iLab put out a Request for Ideas (RFI), inviting teams and individuals to ideate and propose new housing that can be built on small sites in Boston, ranging from 3,000-8,000 square feet. The call closed on Friday, July 30, with a total of 20 submissions from participants who shared ideas for housing with a focus on affordability, sustainability and community.

A terrific sampling of the Request for Ideas (RFI) responses are now displayed both virtually and physically at the Boston Society for Architecture as a part of the Imaginations of Home Exhibition. Attendees of the celebration event will have the chance to view the ideas, hear about the process, and continue to connect with others who may be interested in participating in the next phase of the competition, which will include a request for innovative proposals for a yet-to-be-selected city-owned lot.

Join us for a hybrid event to celebrate ideas submitted to the Co-Creating Boston's Future-Decker RFI and the Imaginations of Home exhibition. RFI participants may attend the celebration in-person, all others are invited to join the celebration virtually.
