A Pivotal Moment for Preservation in Boston: 2021 Efforts, 2022 Goals for the New Administration

For our final HRC meeting of 2021, leaders of the Boston Preservation Alliance -- Boston's leading advocate for historic preservation -- will provide a wrap-up overview of their efforts over the past year to protect the places and tell the stories that matter to Bostonians. Then they will share anticipated initiatives for 2022, including goals for the Wu administration. Hear the latest news and ask Alliance staff your questions about local preservation trends, policies, or specific projects!

As Assistant Director of the Alliance and as a staff member since 2013, our lead speaker Alison Frazee works alongside the Executive Director in advocacy efforts across all of Boston’s neighborhoods. She has been active in Yes for Better Boston, a campaign to fund historic preservation, affordable housing, and parks and green spaces through the Community Preservation Act, serving as Co-Chair of the Steering Committee and providing technical assistance to the community since 2017. Alison was also appointed by Mayor Walsh to serve on the Advisory Group for PLAN: Downtown.

In 2018, Alison was awarded the Paul & Niki Tsongas Award for the Next Generation by Preservation Massachusetts. In addition to her role as vocal proponent for citywide planning and historic preservation, she is known for being an even-handed negotiator for competing stakeholders and a frequent speaker on preservation issues. Alison holds a Master of Historic Preservation from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelor of Arts in Historic Preservation from the University of Mary Washington.
