EDI Network/On the Same Page: January Meeting

  • COST

Free and open to the public.

  • TYPE

    Knowledge Community

Inspired by the format of a book club but designed to include both print and other media such as movies and podcasts, On the Same Page seeks to bring individuals together for an open conversation. We acknowledge that much remains to be learned about inequities and systemic injustices and propose that we will benefit from exploring these topics with each other.
For our next meeting at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2021, please feel free to read/view/listen to some or all of the following material:
Book: The Fire Next Time by James Baldwin (1963). (128 pages)
Video: James Baldwin Discusses Racism | The Dick Cavett Show (17 min)
Article: “Letter to My Son,” Ta-Nehisi Coates, The Atlantic (July 4, 2015)

In addition, we have compiled the book list below for our upcoming meetings. We welcome print and other media suggestions from participants – please bring suggestions to our August meeting or send them to the co-chairs (contact information below). As a reminder, please consider supporting your local bookstore, or purchase from sites such as or Before each meeting, we will share accompanying audio/video materials. Primary selections for the next several meetings are as follows:
