The DFA Knowledge Community – (Now referred to as the DFA KnoCo – Just when we thought there was no room for more acronyms in our lives…) is thrilled to host Rick Hamilton - Principal with Clifton Larson Allen a national firm with its finger on the pulse of the health care and senior care industries. Their deep industry insights and resources bring them to the table as trusted advisors from the initial stages of many development projects. The design community is well aware that the expectations of prospective residents and families from a skilled nursing experience today, bears no resemblance to the reality that was the norm in the 80’s and 90’s.

This session will address the practical considerations behind this transition from financial and regulatory angles:

  • Key industry performance indicators – regionally and nationally
  • SNF Reimbursement changes – the New Medicare Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM)
  • Massachusetts SNF latest trends

Rick has extensive experience in Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care Programs, clinical coverage, documentation, billing, audit triggers, and managed care contracting. His specialties include enhancing compliance and optimizing Medicare reimbursement. Rick has over 25 years of health care experience including long term care operations, administration, planning and organizing new senior care programs in housing, assisted living, adult day health care, medical model clinics, long term care pharmacy services and rehabilitation programs.
