As chairs of the GAC, we would like to invite all interested members to join us for an update on the legislative and regulatory issues that could have an impact on the way we practice architecture here in Massachusetts.

This month we will call for and discuss AIA members’ thoughts and comments related to a provision within a Senate climate bill passed this month. Section 52 would establish a “demonstration project” that would allow 10 communities to amend their zoning by-laws to ban the use of fossil fuels in new construction or major renovations. While the House has yet to take any action on the Senate bill, should AIA MA take a position on this, and if so, what might that position be?

As the sole committee of the Massachusetts chapter of AIA, the GAC's mission is to actively participate in the legislative and regulatory process and encourage public advocacy.

Advanced registration for the meeting is required.
