Placemaking: Tour of the New Boston City Hall Plaza (In Person)

BSA Placemaking Network is presenting a tour of the soon to be opened Boston City Hall Plaza. Tour will be led by the design team from Sasaki.

Phase 1 of the City Hall Plaza aims to make the plaza more accessible for all while delivering updated programming opportunities, added infrastructure, landscape and sustainability features. The new design brings important accessibility improvements to the plaza, replacing the original sets of stairs which navigated the 26-foot descent from Cambridge Street to Congress Street with a sweeping gently sloping promenade.

When all phases of the City Hall Plaza renovation are complete, the plaza will be a prime venue in Boston to host a wide variety of civic and social events, while also serving as a welcoming every day destination.
