We are continuously reminded that one size does not fit all anymore is senior living design. Residents in senior living communities are a diverse group of individuals with many personal preferences but also varied physical and cognitive needs. Most often designers, operators and regulators focus on solving problems of visible and most common disabilities, leaving others unaddressed and/or un-supported by design and operations. Designing universally is complex. People’s abilities change over time as one ages. Join us for a discussion with designers and operators about deaf-space and universal design, focused to serve the deaf, deaf-blind, and hard of hearing.
