Event Description
The first in a series of conversations about how architects and allied professionals are coming together to innovate for implementation in the face of a housing crisis. Join us and Dorchester Design Collaborative, designated developer of the City of Boston’s Welcome Home RFP to learn more about how their integrated project delivery method seeks to shift the way architecture and housing is delivered.
Dorchester Design Collaborative (DDC) is an MWBE certified business. DDC was formed in 2023 as a community-based, design/build, real estate development firm. We focus on neighborhood-scale opportunities to build high quality, sustainable, innovative housing in Dorchester and beyond. Our development model is rooted in integrated project delivery where real estate, design, and construction interests are fully integrated with a strong emphasis on local engagement and community benefits.
Founding partners Jennifer Ha and Milo Stella have long standing and continuing roots in the Dorchester community, and their practice is committed to inclusive and responsive development where the community’s interests are centered and inform the development process. Jennifer is the co-founder of Hue Architecture, based on Harvard Street in Dorchester, and is an architect by trade. Milo is a second-generation owner of Star Contracting Company, based on Dorchester Ave, and specializes in Passive House residential construction. Together, with a team of equally dedicated and talented consultants, Dorchester Design Collaborative seeks to make a positive impact on the community we live, work, and play in by designing and building homes with care and intention at every level.
