Be prepared for a workshop that literally speeds by, as families join designers from Minni for a real “crash course” into the realm of “Moving Machines.” BSA Space is proud to welcome Minni, the creative community space in SoWa to BSA Space to lead this month’s Family Design Day. In this workshop, we will explore the actual definition of a vehicle and learn elementary manufacturing and building skills by working to both reproduce and invent our very own transportation devices. The exhibition in BSA Space, Balancing Act provides a futuristic backdrop to the workshop and the wheels will definitely come off across the span of this program.

Minni is a creative community space for kids located in the heart of the SoWa Art + Design District in Boston’s South End. Minni offers art and design classes, summer programming, and workshops for children 18 months to 10 years old. Classes emphasize a progression of skills, with each week building upon the last. All courses are taught by professional artists, designers, and educators.

This family program is designed for caregivers and children aged five to 13 years old. A maximum ratio of one adult per three children will be required. Please register both children and adults.

Family Design Day programs encourage children and adults to observe, explore, and design together. In these two-hour hands-on workshops, families are introduced to architecture and design through exhibition tours, walking tours, or slide shows and then complete a hands-on design activity. Architects and design educators lead the activities focused on the built environment of Boston and the world.

BSA Space is one block from South Station. Enter through the BSA Space entrance and go up the green staircase. The program begins promptly at start time.

Your registration includes acceptance of our image release and consent policy.

Registrants to this event will be added to the BSA Space mailing list for updates on future public programs and exhibitions. Registrants may unsubscribe at any time. Email addresses will not be shared or sold to third parties.
