Ben Youtz AIA, Partner at designLAB Architects, will present the firm's recently completed renovation of Architect James Stirling's important post-modern work, the Arthur M. Sackler Museum at Harvard University, built in 1985. The presentation will highlight designLAB's research and analysis of the historically-significant Sackler Museum and Stirling's other work of the time that provided inspiration for the design process. Youtz will then discuss the architectural and programming challenges of renovating museum spaces – that were designed with very specific functions in mind – into 21st century learning environments for three distinct Harvard departments.
RSVP to [email protected] by 6 PM, Sunday September 8. Docomomo members and non-members alike are welcome to join us.
We look forward to seeing you for our first meeting of the fall.
