Discover the architectural marvel of the new Ragon Institute building, the groundbreaking home for the Ragon Institute of Mass General, MIT, and Harvard.
This state-of-the-art facility brings together leading scientists and engineers to advance our understanding of the immune system and enhance human health. Join us for a detailed tour and gain insight into its complex systems and sustainable features.
Highlights of the Tour:
Unitized Facade System: Tour the unitized curtainwall system fabricated by Fabbrica, manufactured by Pohl.
Structural Glass Wall: The structural glass wall system is made up of butt jointed double glazed IGU's utilizing a triple 1/2" laminated exterior lite which extends down into a recessed base shoe at the sill. This base capture resists the bending moment in the glass allowing for greater unsupported spans, which allows the structural glass wall at Ragon to reach a height of 19'-0" without mullions.
Timber Curtain Wall: Timber stick-built curtainwall manufactured by Unicell. We will highlight some of the challenges associated with this unique build.
Sloped Green Roof: We will highlight some of the challenges and lessons learned associated with this dramatically sloped green roof.
RSVP's are capped at 20 people.
