Improving Sustainability Through Lean Project Delivery
In 2007, Cynthia Tsao guest lectured in the "Women in Sustainable Design Lecture Series" at Iowa State University to explain how Lean Project Delivery improves sustainability during on-site installation and off-site fabrication processes. In this session at the BSA, Cynthia will allow the audience to "pull" the discussion, that is, determine the goals and thus direction of the conversation.
She will gladly cover the basics for those unfamiliar with Lean Project Delivery or go into a deeper dive to explore how Lean: (1) reveals the hidden wastes on capital projects, (2) improves project team alignment, (3) enables high performing teams, and (4) organizes for better decision-making.
Cynthia will close the session with a discussion on balancing the values of aesthetics and sustainability with intentional vs. unintentional variation in product and process design.
For those who qualify, 1.5 LUs are available.
