Event Description

This Earth Day, come find out about the AIA Materials Pledge! Already signed? Wondering what you'll report for the reporting period that concludes May 31st? This session is for designers and architects who have signed and will be reporting this spring, or those who are working to get their firm to sign, or those who are curious about the Pledge. Come hear from a panel of architects and designers who will speak to their firm’s process in committing to, implementing, and reporting on the AIA A&D Materials Pledge in order to optimize their building material performance through the lenses of human health, social health and equity, ecosystem health, climate health, and a circular economy.

This course focuses on how firms research, optimize, and specify building materials through the lenses of Human health, social health and equity, ecosystem health, climate health, and circular economy. In order to implement lasting change, architecture firms have signed the AIA Materials Pledge to amplify the work of how architects and designers incorporate that knowledge into their design process. By reporting, firms contribute to the field’ broader knowledge, and thereby improve the impact of building materials for occupant and worker well-being.
