Join this discussion of the New Lots Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library, where MASS Design Group and Marble Fairbanks Architects reimagine the library as a civic palaver—a space for dialogue and collective memory—built atop a historic African burial ground. Centered around a radial structure of mass timber, the design uses this regenerative, low-carbon material to evoke a canopy of gathering, rooting the library in both cultural memory and ecological abundance.
