Station-ary: Fulton Transportation Center + Government Center Station

Situated in the heart of Lower Manhattan, the Fulton Transpotation Center is designed to be a catalyst for development and growth that celebrates the city’s history while looking forward to the area’s future. Drawing inspiration from the neighborhood’s cast iron buildings and incorporating the restored 1888 Corbin Building, the extensive complex offers improved accessibility to New York City’s storied mass transit system in a durable, elegant setting.

As the MBTA continues to rebuild and modernize stations throughout its system, such as the recently completed Government Center Station, what lessons and best pratices gleaned from the Fulton Center can be shared and incorporated into future projects?

Please join the BSA Infra\tecture Committee on Thursday, September 27th @ 6PM in the BSA SPACE for a thought-provoking discussion exploring how design can transform utilitarian transit stations into civic spaces.
