My Way: Design Implications of the Highway

Boston has been torn down, dug up, and remade in the name of highways. The legacy of city highway projects has made infrastructure household names – including the Central Artery, the Big Dig, the Inner Belt, the Southwest Corridor, and the Allston I-90 Interchange.

The design and implications of highways are writ large on this city, and many others, and highways will remain a very visible part of the transportation system. This Infra\tecture session will examine the origin, evolution, and best practices of the design and integration of highways into urban districts.

Please join the BSA Infra\tecture Committee and panelists Steve Cecil AIA ASLA Principal at Harriman, Jason DeGray, PE PTOE New England Regional Engineering Director at Toole Design Group, and Courtney Dwyer, District 6 Projects Engineer, MassDOT Highway Division for a multi-disciplinary and thought-provoking discussion about highways.
